Everyone is saying it, so you know it’s true: the real estate market is on fire. If you are thinking of upgrading OR downsizing, you are likely concerned about the timing of buying and selling in Austin.
Many of our clients at the Shannon Schmitz Group need to time this perfectly – so they don’t end up with two mortgage payments… or worse… homeless. You might have kiddos that you don’t want to uproot in the middle of a school year, and you may not be able to even consider moving in the months of November and December… because the holidays are crazy enough, right? If you identify with any of these scenarios, this blog series is for you.
2. Know Exactly Where You Want to Move
Okay, so you know you want to move… or else you probably wouldn’t be reading this blog right now. But do you know where? There are lots of things to take into consideration, and while price is important, there are many other issues. A short list of things to consider might be:
- Schools and school district
- Proximity to work
- Size of the home
- Neighborhood Amenities
- Neighborhood Lifestyle
- Overall Price and Price Per Square Foot
- Proximity to Outdoor Recreation
We are currently working on a neighborhood video project we affectionately call Austin Street Beat. Go take a peek and enjoy a virtual tour of some of Austin’s most popular neighborhoods (Incidentally, if you’d like us to cover a specific neighborhood and you don’t see it there, just let us know and we’ll get to it next!). We also have a great neighborhood guide available for download. Just follow the button below.
We encourage you to drive around and get really familiar with your new neighborhood. And please call us! We are Austin specialists and can help you find what you are looking for. Once you’ve figured it out there’s only one thing to do.. but you’ll have to wait until our next blog post to find out!
